Welcome to the High Performance Winter Academy, The Cricket Hub’s flagship coaching program. Our aim is to provide a holistic coaching program through the winter to help develop the necessary skills, strategies and confidence to have a strong summer season.
As part of the Winter Academy we would like to introduce the Elite Minds program.
Often if you ask any athlete, coach or parent – “What makes a great cricket player?” They will often answer something like below.
Determined – Perseverance – Effort – Focused – Positive Attitude – Talent – Love of the game
That is a short list and already you can see that much of what is listed is ‘mindset’ or ‘attitude’ rather than a physical skill. But how do we build these “mental muscles”. This is where “Elite Minds” comes in to start the conversation around our mindset and how it impacts performance.
How do I prepare myself for game day?
How do I handle the pressure or the fear of not playing well?
How do I remain focused when it comes to that match winning high ball catch?
We know how an athletes’ think affects their ability to perform on the field and their enjoyment of the game, and we are proud to partner with Elite Minds to empower you to achieve your sporting dreams.
Our new online program will support you in striving for really exciting goals, developing good habits, and understanding how to take action EVEN when that voice inside your head might try to stop you.
In amongst the online program we will also incorporate some key cricket specific skills you will be keen to learn more about.
We ask you to spend 30-60 minutes per week, reading, watching and completing the activities provided.
- We will include player interviews, articles to read or a technical review of certain skills.
- We will also includes examples of drills that players can do in their own time to develop specific skills
- Intertwined will be our mindset sessions and worksheets.
- You will also be asked to complete quiz questions as you work through the sessions. These quiz questions are designed to make you think and consolidate what you have learned.
